Batangas Nilupak Recipe

We have a tradition in Batangas that is called "Lupakan". It is an event usually done as a get together of friends and sometimes as a way to welcome guests. The youth gather together to make our favorite nilupak which is done by pounding either cooked banana or cassava with some other ingredients. It is a chance for boys and girls to meet as we prepare the food. A chance also for the guys to show their strength while pounding the ingredients on a giant mortar and pestle.
